New homes to be built in Yorkshire

People seeking apartments to rent in Yorkshire may welcome the
announcement that a number of new flats are to be created in the
Barnsley area of the county.
According to reports in the Yorkshire Post, a total of 16 such
homes are to be built as part of a scheme that will see 78
residences created over the next year.
The project has received funding from the government's Local
Authority Challenge Fund initiative, which was intended to aid the
construction sector during the recession.
Local councillor Bill Newman said the scheme is "great news" for
people in the area.
He added that it will "complement our drive to provide high-quality
affordable housing across the borough".
It is hoped that the first of the new residences will be available
for letting by the autumn of this year.
Meanwhile, another housing development in Buckshaw Village, Chorley
has been receiving considerable attention from prospective buyers,
according to developer Barratt.
